The SCA is an organization that helps promote school spirit by planning and hosting events such as spirit days, homecoming, and powder puff games. The officers are elected from the student body.

Senior Yearbook Ads

Recognize the senior in your life by making them a senior ad with Jostens! Share photos along with a heartfelt message to surprise your senior with a special space in the 2026 yearbook. Prices are: full page - $300, half page - $175, ¼ page - $100, and ⅛ page - $55. Simply go to www.jostens.com, find our school, scroll down and click on “Yearbook Ads.” Then, click on “create a student ad” where you will be asked to create an account to make the ad just how you want it. There is also a tutorial just below the “sign in” so you can watch before you create!     • Gates will open at 7:30 AM.
    • The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 AM.
    • Each senior graduate will receive TBA tickets for entry to graduation at practice on 5/28
    • Guests will not be permitted to enter the stadium before 7:30 AM. While the gates may be open earlier for staff to set up, parents and guests are kindly asked to wait until 7:30 AM for entry.

The MVHS Academic Team, also known as the "A" team, competes in the VHSL sanctioned activity of Scholastic Bowl. Practices are generally Tuesday and Thursday afterschool beginning in October. Matches generally begin in November and continue on Thursday evenings through the first week of January. Students compete in directed round questions and buzz in rounds to earn both individual and team points. Students may earn a varsity letter if requirements are met.

The MVHS Debate Team competes in VHSL sanctioned competition. On the high school level, debate emphasizes the ability to think logically and create a well-designed argument on all sides of a multi-faceted issue or current event. Students broaden their perspectives as they research complex topics as they must be prepared to argue each side of the assigned topics heading into competition.

Generally the team will meet initially in the fall and begin practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in January. Students may earn a varsity letter if they meet the requirements.

At the high school level, forensics emphasizes the ability to speak or perform in front of audiences. There are a number of categories that allow for individual or duos to compete. Practices for this team are generally Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in January.

The MVHS Forensics Team provides an opportunity for students to develop and refine their oral communication skills. This team also offers another chance for Wildcats to show their school spirit as they compete in high school forensics competitions across the state.

The Forensics Team competes in VHSL sanctioned competitions. Students may earn varsity letters if they meet the requirements. In addition, the team may compete in select invitationals throughout the year.

Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. FBLA inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.

Quill and Scroll is an International Honor Society that requires the following eligibility criteria in order for you to be inducted:

• Sophomore, junior, or senior who has participated as an active member in a position of leadership or completed superior work in some phase of publication in The Viewpoint, Scene or The Cat’s Eye.

• GPA in the top 1/3 of the graduating class or a “B” average.

• Demonstrates superior leadership and dedication to the production of The Viewpoint, Scene, or The Cat’s Eye through participation in a wide variety of publication activities and publication responsibilities.

• Demonstrates outstanding character that shows professionalism, trustworthiness, ambition, and integrity.

Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society, was formed in 1957 at the University of Oklahoma. We are dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students. Currently, more than 100,000 students are Mu Alpha Theta members at more than 2,420 schools in the United States and in 23 foreign countries.

The National Art Honor Society provides recognition and opportunities for students who have shown outstanding ability in art (maintain a B+ average in art classes). 

The purpose of the chapter is to:

• Foster excellence and a dedicated spirit to the pursuit of art;

• Further creative abilities and talents of the Society’s members, as well as the school’s entire student art enrollment;

• Bring art to the attention of the school and community; and

• Increase an awareness of art in relation to other areas of the school curriculum.

Mountain View High School is proud to host the Mu Beta Eunoia Chapter of the National English Honor Society. NEHS recognizes students who excel in English language and literature and who demonstrate a passion for reading, writing, and service through the humanities.

To be eligible, students must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher. Members are expected to uphold the core values of scholarship, character, and service, particularly through a love of language and literacy.

Our chapter partners with local elementary schools through our Reading Buddies program, organizes school-wide book drives, and offers students the chance to apply for exclusive NEHS scholarships.

Students in good standing may wear NEHS cords at graduation, recognizing their commitment to the literary arts and academic excellence.

Mountain View High School is host to the Brandon Lawn Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Our members are inducted based on the culmination of our 4 foundational characteristics Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.  Active members must maintain a 3.8 GPA and volunteer with various activities throughout the school year to accumulate 14 service points to be in good standing.

We partner with outside groups annually to provide these service opportunities.  These groups include Stafford County Parks and Recreation, American Red Cross, Special Olympics, and Stafford Junction.  Students also provide services to the Stafford County Schools community through tutoring, teacher appreciation, school beautification, and more.

At graduation, members in good standing will have earned the ability to adorn the NHS stole.  This acknowledges the member’s commitment to Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character as they proceed to the next phase of life.

 How to become an active member:

Students wishing to become candidates for membership must meet the following criteria.

• Be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled at MVHS

• Obtain a cumulative 3.8 GPA or higher

• Exhibit their strength of character in their academics and activities

• Actively be of service to others and their community

• Demonstrate leadership qualities and capabilities

The purpose of SNHS is to encourage scientific thinking and engagement by advancing students’ knowledge of science, increasing communication between students and the scientific community, and aiding the public with its comprehension of science and the scientific process through student-led public outreach and community service.

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

Any secondary school student who has maintained an average of 3.8 GPA in the study of Spanish or Portuguese for a minimum of three semesters and is in the 10th grade or higher is eligible to be a member of the SHH.

This year, become a part of the Mountain View High School theatre department: the Wild Acts. We proudly put on plays, cabarets, one acts, and everything in between. Whether you prefer back stage or center stage, there is something for everyone in the Wild Acts.

Wild Acts have several meetings throughout the year for information regarding current or upcoming performances or upcoming projects. But between rehearsals, performances, work calls, and competitions, - the department is always busy!

In recent years, we’ve proudly put on plays and musicals including Frankenstein, In the Heights, The Secret in the Wings, Pippin, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and most recently, Beauty and the Beast. We’ve also done two haunted houses and hold an annual musical theatre showcase!

Scene is Mountain View High School’s official student-run literary and arts magazine. We publish creative work from across the student body, including poetry, short stories, photography, artwork, and creative nonfiction. Our mission is to give voice to student expression and to celebrate the diverse perspectives, talents, and imaginations of our school community.

Students enrolled in Creative Writing II are a part of our editorial team that meets throughout the year to review submissions, design layouts, and prepare a digital edition of the magazine. We accept submissions on a rolling basis and invite students of all grade levels and backgrounds to share their creative work.

The Viewpoint magazine is the news publication for Mountain View High School and is published bi-monthly. The staff is made up of students taking Journalism II-IV, and they are responsible for planning, writing, creating, and designing all content found in The Viewpoint. We are always looking for freelance writers, photographers, and illustrators who would like to contribute but are unable to take Journalism I-IV. The Mountain View Chapter of Amnesty International holds meetings in which students engage in discussions about human rights-related topics around the globe. As a group, members will spread awareness of these international catastrophes, particularly those which are less covered by the daily news media. Furthermore, members will identify their roles as global citizens to help bring about change, working for a more just society. Meetings will be held one time per month, lasting no more than 30 minutes each, with each discussing a unique situation.

Battle of the Books is a reading competition between all Stafford County High Schools in which students read from a designated list of ten books. The high school teams then compete against one another by answering questions about the ten books they've read in a competition consisting of three rounds (a round of short answer questions, a round of character questions, and a lightning round of "In Which Book..." questions). The tournament allows students to demonstrate their in-depth knowledge about the ten books! The top scoring team wins the Battle trophy and claims that year's title as Battle of the Books Champions.

We are a club that is focused on building community at Mountain View; we welcome all and promote academic and social excellence amongst members in the Black community. Our focus is on maintaining space and fostering relationships grounded in Black culture, addressing systemic issues, and working towards positive outcomes. We have monthly meetings to facilitate these focus points, we have a community service element for club members, we host after school events, and have gone on field trips to Smithsonian Institute of African American History and to Howard University.

Cafe Book Club is a lunchtime book club in which students meet to discuss books based on a monthly theme.  Students select their own books that fit the monthly theme and then share with one another what they liked or disliked about the book over lunch in the library. The book club takes place over all three lunches. Students simply come during their assigned lunch period.

The Asian Student Union hosts fun cultural events, food tastings, games, and open discussions to celebrate Asian heritage, build community, and raise awareness. Everyone is welcome to join, learn, and have a great time!

Students will learn how to grow plants, herbs and vegetables from seedlings as well as split and transplant mature plants in soil and hydroponics conditions. The club has 2 water hydroponic towers which the students maintain  throughout the school year as well as the outdoor garden.

Interact is an internationally recognized club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with other young people in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. Members of the Stafford Rotary Club sponsor and mentor Interactors as they carry out the projects and develop leadership skills. Club dues are $5 and meetings are held monthly on Mondays in room 325 from 2:10 - 3:00pm. Other meetings/programs and volunteer opportunities will be advertised to club members through our Google Classroom (code: jxcrcpp3) and on the school announcements. 

Activities that the club has participated in the past include: Loisann's Hope House Tree of Hope, Meals of Hope, Activ Water, Bobcat Buddies, Brain Builders, Soles for Souls, Relay for Life, Stuff the Truck, Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army, Food Drive for the American Legion, Wounded Warriors, Aquia's Table, and various other special projects.

The Mountain View High School Chapter of Interact is a seven-time recipient of the prestigious Rotary International Presidential Citation. (2008, 2016-2019, 2022-2023)

The Law Club tries to create a better understanding of the legal system and make an impact on our members through education, discussion, and mock trial activities. It meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Only the students that are currently registered in the MC-JROTC can participate in this club.  JROTC is not only a Military Science Class during the classroom setting.  JROTC has many extracurricular activities that take place after school hours and include: Drill Team (Practice: Mon-Fri - 6:30-7:20); Marksmanship Team (Mon & Tue - 2:10-3:20); Raider Team (Tue & Wed - 2:10-3:20); and Cyber Patriot Team(Fri - 2:10-3:20).

Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation where high school students role-play delegates to the United Nations, engaging in discussions and negotiations on global issues. Participants represent different countries, debating topics such as climate change, human rights, and international security. MUN helps students develop critical skills like public speaking, research, and diplomacy while fostering an understanding of international relations and the complexities of global governance.

The MVHS Muslim Student Union is a club where all students meet once a month to discuss Islam and the Muslim experience. Various activities are planned to increase knowledge and understanding of the Islamic culture and traditions.

Renaissance Club meets 1 a month after school and is a student run club. Ms. Weigeshoff is the sponsor and we currently meet every 5th Friday for 1 hour. During the meetings different students present "lessons" on elements of the Renaissance and then the students do a related activity (Maypole, treats, manners, archery and the like). Students vote on new Topics of Ren Club each year so it is always something new.

Student Resource Advisory Committee (SRAC) is a group of students who want to help their peers succeed in high school and beyond. SRAC students share strategies for success with others to help them reach their utmost potential. One meeting and one "succession" are held each month. All students are welcome to join!

Students Serving Seniors' is a service-oriented club that empowers older adults to embrace technology. Our student volunteers provide one-on-one tech support and tutorials to residents in local retirement communities. The goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where seniors can ask questions and build their digital skills with confidence. By making technology more accessible and enjoyable, we help residents stay connected with family and friends. For our students, this experience fosters a sense of community engagement and personal growth.

The Technology Student Association allows students to compete in various events centered around science, technology, engineering, and math. TSA is designed to enhance the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Mountain View High School and inspire students to become future leaders in their chosen field.

The Women's Student Union works to support, inform, and uplift women at Mountain View and in the surrounding community. They meet once a month in room 300 and are always open to new members.
